On 27-28 February 2016 the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov Moscow State University hosts the 7th Moscow Pre-moot. The event will gather 18 teams from Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Serbia, CIS, including of course from Russia.

Moscow Pre-moot represents training sessions to the world’s leading moot competition on private law and arbitration – Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held annually in Vienna. It consists of a series of simulated arbitration proceedings arising from the dispute between the parties to the international sale of goods. This year moot proceedings are governed by the VIAC Rules and, in particular, the issues of recovery of damages (lost profits, disgorgement of profits, legal fees) and document production are in focus.

Arbitration practitioners are invited to arbitrate the sessions, and everyone interested in arbitration and CISG is welcome to attend as observers. To register as an arbitrator please fill the form at www.vismoot.ru at your earliest convenience, but before 19 February 2016. Pleadings will start at 11 am, 2 pm and 4:30 pm at Lomonosov Moscow State University on 27 and 28 February.

The weekend pleadings will be preceded by the Workshop “How to succeed in Vienna” and Conference “Document production and recovery of damages in arbitration” hosted by Moscow offices of White & Case on 26 February 2016 (3:30 pm – 7 pm).
